BalalaikaThe Kent Free Library’s series of free music concerts kicks off on Sunday, September 13 at 2 p.m. with the St. Nicholas Balalaika Orchestra from Mogadore, under the direction of Mary Jane Malackany.

Dressed in traditional Russian folk costumes with traditional Russian instruments, the orchestra will perform songs ranging from poignant romances, adaptations of the musical classics, and rousing folk dance music. Expect to favorites, such as “Somewhere My Love,” or “Laraʼs Theme” from the movie Dr. Zhivago and “Brightly Shines the Moon” (“Svetit Mesyats”).

No registration is required and all ages are welcome; however because space is limited, audience members must pick up a pass at the library’s 2nd floor
