The 2016 Kent Free LibraryOur “How To” Festival is coming to an end!  Many attendees have learned how to enjoy new activities, from bellydancing to beermaking!  Two more programs remain.

Many gardeners lament the end of summer, because they think it means the end of garden-fresh food, or they stopped gardening when they moved into an apartment or condo without access to a yard. Join Don Abbott of Kent Food Not Lawns on Wednesday, November 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kent Free Library for a free demonstration on how to grow food indoors, year round. All ages are welcome, and attendees will receive free seed packets.

On Thursday, November 17 at 6:30 p.m., which happens to be National Homemade Bread Day, learn how to start and keep a sourdough bread starter for baking your own healthful breads. Learn about the health aspects of gluten and bread. This program is for adults only; attendees will receive a free rye and wheat starter to take home and samples of bread will be provided.
