Bob Grau returns to the Kent Free Library on Monday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. to share his exciting experiences hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Less than 25% of aspiring thru-hikers are actually successful in completing the often steep, rocky, extremely demanding trail, which actually looks nothing like a path; and Grau had no hiking experience or gear when he took on the nearly 2,200 challenge.
Grau’s hike took 170 days, and during the last 380 miles of very treacherous terrain in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and in Maine, he was not deterred, even as he hiked with a broken ankle.
Come hear his story of determination and remarkable effort on this journey of hope!
Copies of his book will be available for purchase from the Kent Free Library Foundation. No registration required.
