Be sure to come in by Saturday, August 5, the last day of the Summer Reading Program, to report your reading!  This year’s theme has been Build a Better World.

Participating children will receive an official record to track their reading throughout the summer, and can earn prizes for every five hours of reading. Super Readers who read 20 or more hours will receive a book of their choosing from Scholastic with a commemorative bookplate. Incentives are generously sponsored by Kent Kiwanis, Kent Free Library Foundation’s Cecil Bumphrey Fund, and the ACME Community Cashback program.  More.

Teens and tweens can win scratch-off tickets for books they read–each ticket is a chance to win great prizes like gift cards to local businesses, KSU gear, free books, and more. Readers will also be entered in a Grand Prize raffle.

Adults who submit reviews of the books they read will be entered into prize drawings.

New this year for all ages, complete challenges to earn buttons to pin on a lanyard.

In addition, the library has scheduled dozens of programs related to the Build a Better World theme.  Visit the Youth Services Upcoming Events Page or the Adult Services Upcoming Events Page.
