Reading to certified therapy dogs can benefit reluctant or self-conscious readers, and the Kent Free Library partners with two certified therapy dogs to provide opportunities for children in grades K-5 to “Paws to Read.”Children in grades K-5 are invited to sign up for a 15 minute time slot to read to Lupin, a certified therapy dog who loves listening to stories. Registration is required and begins one week in advance of each meeting. Registration closes the day before.
