Patrons of all ages are invited to participate in the 2019 Summer Reading Program, A Universe of Stories.

Children in preschool through 12th grade may sign up in the Dubois Children’s Reading Room.  They will receive an official reading record to use to track the reading they complete throughout the summer. Participants will record time spent reading in 15-minute increments, and will earn one point for every minute of reading they finish. Participates can complete reading independently or with others. Please note that time spent reading prior to May 24, 2019 is not eligible.

Children can also earn points by attending library programs (25 pts each), and through completing ten Summer Challenges (10 pts each).  Points can be spent on Care for a Critter votes, “Buy Now!” prizes that can be taken home same day, or on Grand Prize Drawing entries. All drawings will be held on Monday, August 4 and winners notified at that time. The final day to participate in the program is Saturday, August 2nd.

Adults have their own program!  Pick up a bookmark at the first floor Information Desk on which you’ll record and rate 5 books you read or 5 adult programs you attend.  Turn in the first bookmark for a water bottle (while supplies last).  Additional completed bookmarks may be entered into a drawing for 3 Grand Prizes.  Books read prior to May 24, 2019 are not eligible.

Adult Summer Reading bookmarks must be returned to the Information Desk by close of business (6:00 pm) on Friday, August 2 to be included in the grand prize drawings.  Drawings for the 3 grand prizes will be conducted on Saturday August 3. Prize winners will be notified via email or telephone of their prize and how the prize can be claimed.
