In celebration of the Summer Reading Program, “A Universe of Stories,” the library will host a story slam on the theme “To Boldly Go.”

Story tellers are invited to tell a 10 minute or less true story related to the theme: a time when the story teller got out of his or her comfort zone, tried something new, or made a discovery in the great, wide universe or in his or her own neighborhood. As many stories as possible will be shared during the hour-long event. Those just wishing to listen to the stories and not tell their own are welcome to attend as audience members.

Story tellers and attendees must be 18 or over. Subject matter and language should be appropriate for a general audience. New story tellers are encouraged to plan out and time their story before the event.

No registration is required. For more information, contact Adult Services at 330.673.4414.
