Enjoy a free all-ages concert by The Akron & District Pipe Band. This high energy group features traditional music of the bagpipes, highland snare, tenor and bass drums. Founded in 1979, the band originally made its home at the 107th Armored Cavalry Ohio National Guard Armory in Stow, Ohio, and continues now at Family of Faith Church in downtown Akron. They continue to provide education and entertainment throughout the greater Ohio area, offering free lessons to anyone interested in learning to play the Great Highland Bagpipes or drums.
Concerts are are held on the 2nd floor balcony so the music may be enjoyed throughout the library. Limited seating is available. No registration required. CDs will be available for sale.
