When libraries closed due to the pandemic in March, SearchOhio also ceased operations. SearchOhio is a statewide service that connects dozens of libraries together in order to allow patrons access to over 10 million items. Patrons may search for items in the consortia catalog, place holds, and request to have materials delivered to their home library within a couple weeks.
SearchOhio is a great way to get items that are not available within the Portage Library Consortia, especially because it includes many large systems, including Cuyahoga County Public Library, Akron-Summit County Public Library, the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, Columbus Metropolitan Library, Warren-Trumbull County Library, the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, Toledo Public Library, and more.
