2022 Summer Read: Oceans of Possibilities
June 1 – July 31, 2022
There’s still time to participate in the Summer Read! Simply read for at least 20 minutes a day for 30 days between June 1 and July 31. All ages may participate. Pick up a reading record at any Information Desk to get started. Track your reading to earn rewards and raffle tickets for grand prizes along the way. Visit the library to get a stamp for every 6 days of reading and to collect your rewards. Rewards and grand prizes are:
YOUTH (Ages 17 and under)
Day 6: Ocean sticker + 2 grand prize tickets
Day 12: Cleveland Monsters hockey ticket, Cleveland Charge Basketball ticket + 4 grand prize tickets
Day 18: Enamel pin + 6 grand prize tickets
Day 24: Narwhal squeeze toy + 8 grand prize tickets
Day 30: Book + 10 grand prize tickets
Use raffle tickets to enter to win grand prizes. Prizes include: Pokémon trainer boxes, Hydro Flask and sea turtle tracking bracelet, Bath toys set, ocean books with finger puppets, Target gift card and puzzle, Off the Wagon gift card and Lego set, Narwhal and Jelly graphic novels set, movie night prize pack, beach day prize pack, manga prize pack, artist prize pack, and the chance to be a Librarian for a Day.
ADULTS (Ages 18+)
Day 6: Summer Read Post It Notes + 2 grand prize tickets
Day 12: A Care for Critter Vote + 4 grand prize tickets
Day 18: Seashell Shaped soap + 6 grand prize tickets
Day 24: Choice of a beach read + 8 grand prize tickets
Day 30: Fahlo track a sea creature wrist band + 10 tickets
Use raffle tickets to enter to win grand prizes. Prizes include your choice of: A Burning River Kayaking Package, a Float the River Package, a One year membership for 2 adults to the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, a Morning at the Beach Package, or a $100 Donation to an ocean-related charity.
Be sure to celebrate your reading success by joining us for the Summer Read Finale on Friday, July 29 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This afterhours event will include live music, Pav’s Creamery ice cream food truck, lawn games, balloon artist, live music by the University of Akron Steel Drum Band, and more.
