Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the governance of the library and its budget. They also hire a Director and Fiscal Officer. Per the Ohio Revised Code, Board members are appointed by the Kent City School’s Board of Education for a seven-year term and receive no monetary compensation.
If you are interested in serving on the library’s Board of Trustees applications are requested annually in September. Those interested should:
- Feel passionate about the role of public libraries in the community
- Support intellectual freedom and access to information for everyone
- Want to ensure the continued excellence of the library
- Recognize the importance of funding, facilities, and great employees to serve the community
- Enjoy working with a group of like-minded people

Meetings of the Board are scheduled for the third Thursday of each month at the library. The time and date of meetings are subject to change. Please call the library to confirm meetings. Meetings are open to the public.
