Friday, Sept. 9 at 10:30 am: Hooray for Grands Day!

Let’s celebrate the grand people in our lives! Pre-school age kids and younger and a “grand-person” are invited to this special story time that will feature grand-parent books and a wreath making activity to complete together. There will also be light refreshments to enjoy! Registration is required and begins one week in advance. Please register once pre family/group.

Thursday, Sep. 8 at 7:00 pm: Songwriters’ Workshop

Taught by local Kent guitarist, Mick Rogers, known for original blues-based rock and roll, this seven-session song writing workshop is geared towards the singer/songwriter. Learn about lyrics, chord structures, and other mechanics of the song writing process. Talk about successes, where and how we get ideas, and present new or incomplete songs with the group. The last class session will feature a new song that will be performed on the second floor balcony. Registration required for each session. For adults 18+.

Sun. Sept. 4 – Mon. Sept. 5: Library Closed for Labor Day

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, the library will be closed on Sunday, September 4 and Monday, September 5.  As always when the library is closed, no items are due and no fines will be assessed on overdue materials.

For your convenience, items may still be returned using the drive through or the drop boxes to the left of the parking lot entrance.

Thursday, Sep. 1: Teen Book Boxes

Register online at the end of the month receive a Teen Book Box the following month. Book Boxes are for students in grades 9-12. Book Boxes can be picked up from the Dubois Children’s Reading room on September 1. Your Book Box will include library books for you to enjoy and return, and themed goodies for you to keep! Registration is required and begins Aug 25.
