Saturday, Jul. 29 at 10:00 am: Mythical Creatures Story Time

Families with children of all ages are invited to celebrate Kent’s Wizardly Weekend with a story time filled with dragons, unicorns and other mythical creatures on Saturday, July 29 at 10:00 a.m.! This story time is geared toward children in Kindergarten and below, but all ages are welcome to attend. Following story time pick up, a craft to take home. Registration is required and begins July 22.

Thursday, Jul. 27 at 7:00 pm: Game Night: National Park Trivia

From well-known landmarks to historical facts, our Game Night featuring National Park trivia is sure to be natural fun. Join us for this laid back, friendly competition for small prizes. Registration is required and begins Thursday, July 13 at 9:00 am. For adults 18+.

Saturday, Jul. 22 at 11:00 am: Junior Coders Club

Children preschool aged – entering grade 3 are invited to join us for screen-free activities that explore coding, robotics, circuits, and more.

Registration is required and begins one week in advance of each meeting. Space is limited.

Sunday, Jul. 16 at 2:00 pm: Concert Series: Campfire Songs

All ages, come sit by the “fire” on the second floor balcony and sing along to campfire songs led by Pat LaVoie and James Knight of the musical group It’s About Time duo. Our summer reading theme celebrates outdoor and indoor activities. Song lyrics will be provided to sing along. The concert will be held on the Library’s second floor balcony. No registration required. All ages are welcome.

Saturday, Jul. 15 at 3:00 pm: Kent Blues Fest: Ty’s Tunes

The Kent Free Library is a venue for the 2023 Kent Blues Fest. Listen to vocalist and guitarist Tyrone Hornbuckle perform on the Library’s second floor balcony. Mr. Hornbuckle has been playing on stage since he was 13 years old. Enjoy hearing his performance of blues, originals, and southern & classic rock. All ages welcome. No registration required.
