Book Sale

The Fall Friends book sale will be held in October:

Thursday, Oct. 17, 5:00 – 8:00 pm:  Friends of KFL Preview Sale. Memberships may be purchased at the door and are $5 for individuals and $3 for students or seniors.
Regular sale hours are Friday, October 18 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, and Sunday from 1:30 – 4:30 pm. Cash or check are accepted.

Friends of Kent Free Library will meet on dates below.  Meetings are open to the public and subject to change.

Volunteer Opportunities

Sorting donations is going on.  A group meets to sort most Tuesdays from  1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.  Sign in at the Information Desk.

You may volunteer at other times, but there must be 2 volunteers present at all times.  If you have a buddy or 2, you can come and work at any time–you don’t have to follow the scheduled shifts.  Just sign in at the Information Desk.

Haymaker Farmers Market and Kent Lions Corn Fest

Help staff an information and mini-book sale booth at the Haymaker Farmers Market on Saturday, July 20 and the Kent Lions Corn Festival on Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4. Contact [email protected] or stop by the Information Desk to sign up.

Donate Books

The library accepts donations of items in new or good condition according to the specifications in this policy. The library cannot guarantee that donations will be added to the circulating collection. The library’s Collection Development Policy will determine the acquisition of donated items. Items not added to the collection will be gifted to The Friends of the Kent Free Library for future book sales to raise funds for the library. Leftover book sale items may be recycled or offered to other local organizations and non-profits.

Friends of Kent Free Library Board of Directors

A seven-member Board of Directors governs the Friends of Kent Free Library. Board members are elected annually. The Friends work in collaboration with the library’s Director and Board of Trustees to support programs and services the library offers for the community.
